UH Building Manager

Amentum is seeking a UH (Unaccompanied Housing) Building Manager to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The UH Building Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, maintenance coordination, and occupancy management of Unaccompanied Housing (UH) facilities in accordance with Navy housing standards and community expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage building operations, monitor facility conditions, coordinate service requests, and ensure safe, clean, and habitable living environments for assigned personnel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, addressing housing concerns, enforcing occupancy policies, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections, document deficiencies, coordinate corrective actions with maintenance and facilities teams, and track work orders to completion.
- Maintain housing records, manage room assignments and turnovers, coordinate check‑in and check‑out processes, and support housing inspections and audits.
- Assist with quality‑of‑life initiatives, emergency response coordination, and housing‑related reporting in a remote, mission‑driven environment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, housing operations, property management, or related field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of building operations, preventive maintenance coordination, and occupancy management
- Strong administrative, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and interact professionally with residents and leadership
- Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
- Valid country driver's license
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
