Amentum is seeking a Housing Porter to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Housing Porter will be responsible for providing professional housing support services, customer assistance, and administrative oversight for housing operations. The position serves as the primary point of contact for tenants, supporting check in and check out processes, occupancy management, housing inspections, maintenance coordination, and customer service operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional customer service and daily support to tenants, residents, and customers.
  • Assist customers during check in and check out procedures by explaining policies, procedures, and required documentation.
  • Issue keys, access materials, and required check in/ check out documentation to tenants.
  • Assist tenants with lockouts, access issues, and service-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records related to occupancy, reservations, supplies, office activities, and housing operations.
  • Monitor occupancy status within assigned housing units and ensure records are updated accordingly.
  • Perform housing unit inspections to verify quality standards, cleanliness, readiness, and overall condition.
  • Receive and document building maintenance service requests.
  • Coordinate with maintenance departments to ensure service orders are assigned and completed.
  • Identify deficiencies during inspections and coordinate correction.
  • Maintain a safe workplace by following all Environmental Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, and company safety requirements.
  • Adhere to all Department of State company policies, contract requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support additional housing operations, administrative projects, and assignments as directed by leadership.
  • Adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and operational requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of comparable customer service experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle.
  • Experience working with a multinational workforce.
  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in housing, hospitality, lodging, facilities management, or customer service operations.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Experience working in challenging environmental conditions.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
