About the role :

Support the Information Technology department with basic operational and administrative tasks, assisting with computer setup, inventory management, basic user support, and general IT activities. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience while contributing to the day-to-day operations of the IT team.

The Quest:

Basic IT Support

  • Assist with the distribution and collection of computer equipment.
  • Help set up computers, monitors, keyboards, and other peripherals.
  • Assist with basic computer configuration by following established procedures.
  • Escalate technical issues to the IT team when necessary.

IT Asset Inventory

  • Assist in maintaining and updating the IT asset inventory.
  • Label and organize IT equipment and accessories.
  • Verify the physical condition of computers and related equipment.
  • Help maintain an organized IT storage area.

User Assistance

  • Provide basic assistance to employees with common hardware and software questions.
  • Assist with the installation of approved software applications.
  • Follow up on assigned support requests under the supervision of the IT team.

Administrative Support

  • Assist in documenting simple IT procedures.
  • Organize departmental files and documentation.
  • Update IT records, logs, and tracking spreadsheets.
  • Provide general administrative support to the IT department.

Project Support

  • Assist with computer deployment and equipment setup projects.
  • Participate in departmental improvement initiatives when assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the IT team.

The Skills:

Education
Currently pursuing a degree in one of the following fields:

  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Computer Engineering
  • Or a related field

Preferred Knowledge

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Basic computer hardware knowledge.
  • Interest in learning about IT support and technology

Experience
No prior work experience is required.
Academic projects, volunteer work, or internship experience related to Information Technology are a plus.
