Supplier Quality Manager, Connector/Cable, Electromechanical Supplier Quality Management
About this role
This role focuses on four core areas of work:
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead new supplier qualification audits, partner with Hardware and Signal-Integrity Design on DFM/DFA reviews, develop manufacturing processes (stamping, plating, injection, crimping, extrusion), drive PPAP management, and validate process capability (Cpk/Ppk), high-speed signal integrity, and reliability test— owning every quality gate before next milestone
- Mass Production: production audit, monitor SPC data (crimp force, plating thickness, impedance) and identify abnormal trends early; drive continuous-improvement projects (DMAIC) to reduce DPPM and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ); manage supplier 5M1E changes and quality-impact assessment of ECN/PCN — especially raw-material substitution
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Final Assembly Test & Pack (FATP) IQC teams, US headquarters Hardware R&D / SI Engineers, Asia Sourcing, Reliability, Compliance, and Finance to drive bidirectional optimization between design and process; establish IQC standards, SCAR routing, and escalation paths
- Field Issue Resolution & Crisis Response: Respond rapidly to line-down events, ship-holds, and customer field issues — driving containment, root-cause analysis, and 8D closure, including the complex non-reproducible, multi-impacting-factor defect escapes; plan ahead for predictable disruptions such as Spring Festival, typhoon season, and tariff volatility Basic Qualifications: - 8+ years in design, supplier quality, process engineering or a related role in consumer electronics or electromechanical components.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with connectors and/or cables (USB / Type-C / HDMI / DC Jack / BTB / WTB; audio / internal / high-speed cable).
- Hands-on experience with 8D, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA (including GR&R).
- Working knowledge of IPC (IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620) and ISO 9001.
- Hands-on use of AI tools with ability to validate output reliability.
- Business-fluent English and fluent Mandarin. Preferred Qualifications: - Led multiple end-to-end NPI programs (from Prototype to MP); experience with AIAG FMEA (AP rating), Reverse-PFMEA, Attribute MSA.
- High-speed signal-integrity depth: VNA / TDR / BERT, eye-diagram / jitter, USB-IF / HDMI 2.1 compliance.
- Reliability engineering: HALT/HASS, ALT, Weibull, MTBF; high-reliability / aerospace standards (AS9100D, AS6081, J-STD-001 Space Addendum, MIL-STD-810).
- Python, SQL, AWS QuickSight or equivalent; fluent prompt-engineering use of generative AI with output verification.
- Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous, multi-root-cause escapes; on-site experience in Greater China or Southeast Asia; consumer-electronics OEM or connector/cable maker background.
