About this role

The Amazon Robotics (AR), Technology Enablement Services (TES) team, is seeking a PLM Systems Development Engineer focused on Data and Analytics for our Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management platform. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise PLM data, cloud data engineering, and business intelligence, building the data infrastructure that transforms raw PLM data into actionable insights for engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong data engineering background with hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines using AWS services and extracting data from complex enterprise applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to build the analytics layer that provides visibility into product development performance, PLM system health, and data quality across the organization. This role requires an individual who is customer-centric, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable operating with an entrepreneurial mindset. You will collaborate with PLM engineers, product managers, hardware development engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs, build reliable pipelines, and deliver analytics that drive decision-making.

Key job responsibilities
• Design and build data extraction pipelines from Siemens Teamcenter PLM to AWS data lake using services such as AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and S3
• Create and maintain analytics data models representing PLM product lifecycle metrics including BOM structures, change management workflows, and document management
• Build dashboards and reporting for Teamcenter usage analytics, data quality monitoring, and product development cycle performance using Amazon QuickSight or equivalent tools
• Support PLM system integration data flows with monitoring, alerting, and observability
• Develop data validation and quality frameworks to ensure integrity of PLM data across enterprise system boundaries
• Implement data federation capabilities between Teamcenter and other enterprise systems including ERP and CAD tools.
• Optimize data infrastructure for cost, performance, and reliability within AWS environments
• Apply relevant data engineering best practices including version control, testing, documentation, and CI/CD for data pipelines
• Present data insights and technical information clearly to stakeholders and participate in knowledge sharing across the team

A day in the life
As a PLM Systems Development Engineer focused on Data and Analytics, you bridge data engineering expertise with PLM domain knowledge. Your day may start by reviewing pipeline health dashboards and triaging a data quality alert from an overnight Teamcenter extraction job. You then join a stand-up with the PLM engineering team to understand upcoming schema changes that affect your pipelines. Throughout the day, you collaborate with PLM engineers, hardware development engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure data and analytics solutions meet the needs of AR.

Basic Qualifications: - Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- 3+ years of data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence or business analytics experience
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience including, building and maintaining data flows and pipelines
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields
- Knowledge of data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL and reporting/analytic tools and environments
- Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipeline implementation
- Experience Experience working with complex data sets Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience in any Bigdata architecture, or experience with automation and any version control tools and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages
- Knowledge of data engineering pipelines, cloud solutions, ETL management, databases, visualizations and analytical platforms
- Experience with enterprise systems including SAP, Oracle, and custom applications
- Experience in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps
-  Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM data model including Items, BOMs, Change objects, and Document management Experience with PLM or ERP system data extraction and integration

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
