LOCATION: Solitude Mountain Resort

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time / 10 Month / Hourly

PAY RATE: $28.88

POSITION

The Teams Solitude Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and execution of Team Solitude's non-competitive seasonal programs and Summer Camp operations. This includes oversight of the All Mountain, Junior Devo, and Cruisers multiweek programs in the winter as well as Summer Camp operations, and Mountain Bike Team programming. This role also supports Bike School, Adventure Park, and other Ski & Ride School operations as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, employee engagement, program quality, safety standards, labor efficiency, operational readiness, and achieving financial results. Supervisors use available technology, business practices, and communication systems to manage daily and seasonal staffing needs. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, payroll administration, transportation coordination, event planning, performance management, and directing operational execution across winter and summer programs.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Available between mid-October through mid-August, including weekends and holidays.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years working in a ski school, snowboard school, teams program, camp program, youth recreation program, or similar environment preferred.
  • PSIA Level 1, USSA, or IFSA Level 100 coaching credentials required (Level 2 or 200 preferred).
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Dependable, punctual, and accountable, taking ownership and staying persistent to drive work to completion.
  • Strong understanding of skiing and snowboarding techniques, teaching methods, and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of outdoor recreation activities and their associated safety requirements.
  • Strong, clear communication and interpersonal skills across one-on-one, group, and cross-functional settings, with the empathy and self-awareness to develop, motivate, and adapt to a team of coaches, counselors, and athletes, plus excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in organizing and executing large-scale events, camps, and recreational programs.
  • Experience with RTP, Flaik, TeamSnap, or similar resort software systems preferred.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and other business technology platforms.
  • Able to synthesize data and experience to make objective, timely decisions on staffing and operations, even in fast-paced or ambiguous conditions.
  • Strong mentorship and conflict resolution skills for interpersonal athlete and participant dynamics.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, and Lifeguard certifications preferred.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hire, train, onboard, schedule, and supervise a high-performing team of qualified ski & snowboard coaches and Summer Camp counselors by selecting the right people, coaching, and supporting ongoing skill development, helping new staff acclimate quickly while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operating standards.
  • Lead staff meetings, briefings, training sessions, and other professional functions as directed by the Teams Manager.
  • Schedule and manage staffing to ensure adequate coverage across all winter and summer programs while maintaining labor efficiency goals.
  • Manage employee time and pay, including reviewing and approving timesheets.
  • Monitor and review employee performance with other supervisors and individual staff members regularly.
  • Manage staff performance with integrity and the resort's values by setting clear expectations and delivering recognition, honest and actionable feedback, coaching, disciplinary action, and seasonal evaluations.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to maintain equipment, vehicles, facilities, and program resources in excellent condition.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of all participants and staff while enforcing proper safety practices and risk management procedures.
  • Support on-mountain events, including alpine and snowboard racing, freestyle events, mountain bike events, camps, competitions, and marketing activations.
  • Manage non-competitive Team Solitude programs, including Junior Devo, All Mountain, and Cruisers.
  • Support planning and execution of Team Solitude mountain bike programming, training opportunities, events, and athlete experiences.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise Summer Camp counselors.
  • Plan and organize daily Summer Camp operations, including staffing plans, activity schedules, transportation logistics, field trips, and special events.
  • Create and distribute camp calendars, schedules, and activity plans that deliver engaging and safe summer experiences.
  • Coordinate participant registration requirements and ensure collection and maintenance of participation records, waivers, permission slips, medical information, and other required documentation.
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and distribution of camp supplies, equipment, and activity materials.
  • Maintain appropriate counselor-to-camper ratios and staffing levels to ensure safe and effective program delivery.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians, responding to questions, concerns, and program needs in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinate daily transportation needs and ensure safe participant movement throughout resort and off-site activities.
  • Communicate directly with guests using the SafeSport-approved TeamSnap platform, phone calls, emails, and text messages.
  • Provide regular communication updates to athletes, families, parents, and participants regarding schedules, events, program expectations, and operational changes.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with company policies, and work with the Teams Manager to inform program budget, labor, and purchasing needs.
  • Work with the Teams Manager and Ski & Ride School leadership team to support and achieve Guest Experience targets for the success of the overall Snowsports department.
  • Resolve guest complaints utilizing guest service guidelines and accommodate special requests when appropriate.
  • Ensure coaches, counselors, and instructors are knowledgeable about product offerings, company policies and procedures, and work schedules.
  • Establish and review mutual seasonal goals and performance objectives with staff, providing feedback and support throughout the season.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, peers, and other departments to create an environment of support and trust that benefits staff and guests.
  • Support Bike School and Adventure Park operations as needed.
  • Support Ski & Ride School operations as needed.
  • Fill in for staff and teach, coach, supervise, or lead guests as necessary.
