Overview:

Reporting to the VP, Global Market Access, the candidate will act as the overall lead for global pricing & market access strategy for Alnylam’s Rare Disease portfolio, as well as for selected pipeline assets, bringing key learnings across the team and representing the franchise as part of the program development, market access and brand leadership teams to ensure consistency of approach in securing access for current and future products.

In addition, the candidate will be directly responsible for analyzing business cases and support decision making for all pricing requests for Alnylam’s Partner & Emerging Markets (P&EM), collaborating directly with Commercial Directors and external partners.

Lastly, the candidate will be responsible for managing the Global Pricing System (GPS) including quarterly price updates and reporting across the portfolio, creating efficiency in price approval process and lead change management to make GPS future-ready for the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with cross-functional teams at global and regional level, lead the development of strategic access plans for all in-line brands, new assets, pipeline products inclusive of access landscape development, payer segmentation, payer strategy, organized customer contracting and channel strategy, pricing, distribution, and value proposition development.
  • Communicate access-specific strategies to internal business partners for incorporation into brand planning.
  • Develop market access strategy from commercial view point with input from cross-functional teams.
  • Help champion priority access initiatives with meaningful impact to the business to commercial leadership.
  • Collaborate with Global and Regional Market Access Strategy counterparts to share learnings across business units that will drive franchise success.
  • Serve as single-point-of-contact for all pricing strategy related discussions and guidance for P&EM business unit.
  • Develop internal working partnerships with Regional Market Access, Value & Evidence Strategy Team, Pricing, Advocacy / Policy, and Legal to drive critical decision making and ensure proper execution.
  • Lead the development of the payer value story, supported by credible clinical, health economics and PRO messages to justify brand value; interfaces with VESt team to guide evidence generation efforts that support payer value story development.
  • Leverage understanding of the competitive landscape to anticipate and pre-empt future competitor moves by developing innovative strategies and tactics across Market Access.
  • Provide input into above brand access initiatives and pull through learnings in branded access strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • MBA, MPH, PharmD or Health Economics/Outcomes Research preferred
  • 10 +years of commercial market access experience; 5+ years in rare disease
  • Substantial US, EU & Emerging Market experience with market access strategies, launch pricing, contracting, reimbursement, and distribution concepts for specialty products
  • Problem Solving & Innovation - Unstructured strategy development problems that can be logically linked to revenue and profit specific business cases. Examples include LOE strategies, launch strategies, pricing strategies and clinical development strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead a high performing cross-functional team, and be ready to ‘roll-up-the-sleeves’ to get work done despite conflicting priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in presenting and communicating to C-suite leaders with exceptional clarity and business focus.
  • Strong business & scientific acumen, learning agility
  • Ability to influence & build strong relationships in a matrix environment
  • Ability to define, track, analyze key access performance measures and make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to prioritize, pivot, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

U.S. Pay Range

$210,000.00 - $284,100.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
