Associate Veterinarian
About this role
Company Description
Marion, Mississippi
Till-Newell Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Marion, Mississippi.
Why Marion, Mississippi?
Relocating is a big decision, so here's why so many people enjoy calling this corner of Mississippi home:
Small-town living, right next door to a bigger city. Marion is a quiet residential town just northeast of Meridian, Mississippi's county seat and a regional hub, giving you small-town peace with easy access to bigger-city amenities just minutes away.
A downtown that's earned real recognition. Garden & Gun magazine has called nearby Meridian "Mississippi's unofficial seat of culture," and it's easy to see why — a flourishing arts scene, gorgeous historic architecture, and a genuinely lively downtown make it a great home base.
Live music runs deep here. Meridian is home to Mississippi's oldest live-music scene, plus the state-of-the-art Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX), celebrating the state's legendary contributions to music, literature, and art.
Green space and outdoor recreation nearby. Meridian's Bonita Lakes Park is considered one of America's great urban green spaces, and the area is also home to Dunn's Falls and Okatibbee Lake, offering hiking, fishing, and boating just a short drive away.
History around every corner. From the historic Threefoot Building downtown to the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum at the Historic Soulé Steam Feed Works, the area offers rich history for anyone who enjoys exploring the past.
Comfortable, walkable downtown charm. Downtown Meridian offers more than a dozen locally owned boutiques and specialty shops, six museums, two beautifully restored retro theaters, and a genuinely welcoming small-city feel.
A predictable schedule that respects your life outside of work. With a structured four-day workweek, defined clinic hours, and a shared on-call system rather than extended or weekend clinic hours, this role is designed to offer real, sustainable work-life balance.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary plus production bonus
- Sign-on bonus and/or relocation assistance
- Health, dental, and vision insurance; robust 401k
- Continuing education allowance and license/DEA reimbursement
- Paid time off + CE PTO
- A genuinely supportive, experienced team culture
- A predictable schedule: minimum 4 days/week, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, with shared on-call rotation for evenings and weekends (no extended or weekend clinic hours)
Job Description
About the Role
We offer a predictable, well-structured schedule that respects your time outside of work. This is a minimum four-day work week, with clinic hours of 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and rotating evening and weekend on-call coverage shared among the veterinary team. We intentionally do not run extended clinic hours or weekend clinic hours — after-hours needs are handled entirely through our on-call rotation, and we plan to continue operating this way.
What you'll do:
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical and surgical cases
- Perform wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, and preventive services
- Participate in a shared rotation for evening and weekend on-call coverage
- Build lasting relationships with clients and the Marion and greater Meridian community
- Collaborate with a supportive, experienced team of technicians and support staff
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
- DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary program
- Active or eligible Mississippi veterinary license
- Prior clinical experience required — this role is not suited for a new graduate
- Willingness to work a minimum of four days per week and participate in the shared on-call rotation
- Strong communication skills and genuine compassion for animals and their owners
