Senior Behavioural Economist - SVP
About this role
We are seeking a Senior Vice President to join our Behavioural Economics team, helping clients through the application of behavioural science, economics and evidence-led insights. You will undertake research for and write expert reports of the highest standard for major legal cases or investigations and solve complex business and policy challenges.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Vice President, you will lead the application of behavioural economics and behavioural science across client engagements, partnering with senior stakeholders to translate research, analysis and evidence into actionable strategies that deliver meaningful impact. Examples of projects that you might work on include cutting-edge competition and other litigation cases, consumer protection investigations and digital regulation in the UK and EU. Topics cover all aspects of consumer behaviour – and other human decision-making- including online choice architecture/ digital design, influences on consumer choice in markets and more.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading behavioural science and behavioural economics workstreams across client engagements.
- Designing and delivering behavioural research, including experiments, field trials and behavioural interventions.
- Applying behavioural insights to challenges such as customer engagement, organisational effectiveness, risk management, compliance, transformation and change adoption.
- Translating complex research findings into practical, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Advising C-suite and senior executives on behavioural drivers and evidence-based decision making.
- Developing behavioural science tools, frameworks and intellectual capital that strengthen AlixPartners' client offering.
- Contributing to business development, thought leadership and client relationship management.
- Mentoring junior team members and supporting team development.
What You'll Need
- Significant experience applying behavioural economics, behavioural science, experimental economics or decision science to real-world challenges.
- Strong understanding of empirical research methods and experience applying quantitative and experimental techniques to real-world problems.
- Proven project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Experience publishing research, thought leadership, academic papers or policy-focused publications would be advantageous.
- Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in R, Python, Stata or similar analytical tools.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- A pragmatic, commercially minded and results-oriented approach, coupled with intellectual curiosity and sound judgement.
- A commitment to collaboration, mentoring and delivering memorable results for clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages will be an asset.
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.
- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment.
