AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model to provide flexibility and support our employees’ work-life integration.  Our hybrid model combines a mix of in-person (at client site or AlixPartners office) and remote working.  Travel is part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.

An opportunity has become available for a Vice President (equivalent to Manager in a Big 4 environment) to join our growing Corporate Finance & Capital Advisory team in London.

Working closely with Managing Directors and senior members of the team, you will play a leading role in the execution of a wide range of debt advisory and capital raising mandates, supporting clients through critical financing events and strategic transactions. You will lead day-to-day transaction delivery, manage workstreams, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, and help clients navigate complex financing decisions.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to business development initiatives, leveraging market insight, lender relationships and sector expertise to support the growth of the practice.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical capabilities with sound commercial judgement, be comfortable operating in fast-paced situations, and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality work to demanding deadlines. In addition to transaction execution, you will be expected to coach and develop junior team members and contribute to building a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Technical Capability

  • Advanced financial modelling – ability to digest fully integrated 3-statement models and undertake detailed debt capacity modelling – structuring, covenant headroom and downside scenarios
  • Strong understanding of capital structures including first-out / last-out, super senior / unitranche, and hybrid ABL cash flow debt structures
  • Detailed understanding and ability to identify key credit strengths and weaknesses through experience in having drafted credit committee papers and review of due diligence materials
  • Detailed understanding of debt term sheets
  • Working knowledge of LMA documentation, intercreditor agreements and security packages

Market Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of the European financing landscape, including clearing banks, challenger banks, direct lenders, private credit funds, specialty finance providers and alternative capital sources.
  • Practical experience using market intelligence tools such as LCD, Debtwire and similar platforms to assess market conditions, pricing trends and financing terms.
  • Ability to provide clients with informed, commercially focused advice based on prevailing market dynamics and lender appetite.
  • Existing relationships across the lending, advisory or sponsor community are advantageous.

What You'll Need

  • 4-5 years'* experience at a bank or fund following an analyst programme (specifically, experience in a structured / leveraged / acquisition finance or credit role)

or

a Chartered Accountant with c.2 years post-qualified experience in the above capacity

  • Demonstrable experience leading transaction workstreams and managing financing processes through to completion.
  • Proven ability to analyse and structure financing solutions across a range of transaction types, including acquisitions, refinancings, recapitalisations and growth financings.
  • Experience operating in sponsor-backed, corporate or special situations environments.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, lenders, investors and management teams
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment
