Position Summary:
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role ensures the efficient production of high-quality components by monitoring machine performance, inspecting finished products, and following safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines according to production specifications and work instructions.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper alignment and securing of workpieces.
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on CNC machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings and part counts.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to optimize production processes.
- Keep the work area clean and organized to support a safe and efficient environment.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Experience/Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior CNC machining experience or technical training is a plus.
Other Details:
- Work Environment: Factory setting with regular interaction with production and warehouse areas.
- Physical Demands: Role may require constant walking, repeated twisting, standing, bending, squatting and lifting 50 lbs. or higher.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits, conferences, and inter-facility coordination.
