About this role

As a Junior QA Engineer, you will support the delivery of high-quality software solutions through functional testing and test automation activities. You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, QA Engineers, and Scrum teams to validate business requirements, execute test cases, identify defects, and contribute to automation initiatives.

As a member of our geographically distributed development team, your analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills will help ensure software quality in a fast-paced Agile environment. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build expertise in modern testing practices and automation frameworks using Playwright, Cucumber BDD, Java, and JavaScript.


Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright with Cucumber BDD and Java and/or Playwright with JavaScript.

· Analyze business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications to understand testing requirements.

· Create, review, and execute functional, integration, regression, and system test cases.

· Perform manual and automated testing of web applications to verify functionality and usability.

· Identify, document, track, and retest defects using defect management tools.

· Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.

· Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

· Support API testing activities and validate backend integrations.

· Assist in creating and maintaining test data and test environments.

· Contribute to automation execution within CI/CD pipelines.

· Analyze test results and communicate issues effectively to project stakeholders.

· Support release validation and production verification testing activities.

· Learn and apply QA best practices, testing standards, and automation techniques.

· Work with geographically distributed teams to achieve project quality objectives.

· Continuously improve testing knowledge and technical skills through learning and hands-on experience.




Required Knowledge & Skills:

· 1-2 years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, or Software Development.

· Basic understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

· Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

· Basic knowledge of test automation concepts.

· Familiarity with Playwright, Selenium, or similar automation tools is preferred.

· Exposure to Java and/or JavaScript programming concepts.

· Understanding of BDD concepts and familiarity with Cucumber is desirable.

· Basic understanding of functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

· Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

· Basic knowledge of REST API testing concepts.

· Understanding of Git or other source control systems is desirable.

· Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques.

· Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps is an advantage.

· Understanding of web application technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Willingness to learn new technologies and testing frameworks.
