Senior Engineering Manager- AI Enablement & EHR Agents
About this role
Aledade's AI Platform & Innovation organization is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead two adjacent teams: AI Enablement (4 engineers) — the team that enables and supports the broader Product/Tech/Analytics organization in using developer-centric AI tools, and EHR Agentic Integration (3 engineers) — the team productionizing browser agents that automate clinical and administrative workflows in EHR systems like Athena. The dual-team scope is intentional: both teams sit at the leading edge of agentic AI at Aledade, both depend on the same platform substrate (MCP Gateway, AgentCore, Claude Code, LiteLLM), and the manager who leads them will be a primary technical and people leader for AI engineering at Aledade.
\nPrimary Duties:-
Manage and grow two engineering teams. Direct people management for ~7 engineers across AI Enablement and EHR Agents (mix of Staff Tech Lead, Senior FDEs, and Senior+ engineers on EHR Agents); coaching, career development, performance management, hiring.
-
Own delivery of two charters. Drive AI Enablement team execution against the AI Unlock program (marketplace, installer, gateway, education); drive EHR Agents team execution against the Athena lab-ordering and G-code billing roadmap; partner with platform and product leaders on cross-team commitments.
-
Coordinate cross-team delivery, dependency management, and go/no-go calls; run the operational rhythm (sprint planning, retros, status); be the named accountable owner.
-
Hire and onboard. Close 4 net-new AI Enablement hires (FDEs) and any EHR Agents backfills; run interview loops; design onboarding that gets new engineers productive in agentic-coding workflows fast.
-
Represent the teams up and across. Communicate progress, risks, and asks to the AI Platform & Innovation leadership team and broader Tech VP+ forum; partner with security, foundations, and AI Platform peers on shared infrastructure.
-
BS/BTech (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
-
7+ years total engineering experience including 3+ years managing engineers as a direct people manager.
-
Demonstrated experience managing teams of 5+ engineers through delivery of complex software projects on production systems.
-
Strong technical foundation — ability to engage deeply on architecture, code review, and trade-off conversations even though you are no longer hands-on day-to-day.
-
Track record of hiring, growing, and developing engineers across levels (junior through senior).
-
Experience leading delivery in regulated environments (healthcare, finance, or comparable) or willingness to ramp quickly on HIPAA constraints.
- Prior management of multiple teams or workstreams concurrently — managing two adjacent teams is the day-one shape of this role.
-
Hands-on familiarity with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot agents) and the MCP / LLM tooling ecosystem.
-
Experience leading platform / developer-experience teams and product-facing engineering teams — the dual nature of this role.
-
Background in or near healthcare technology, EHR integration, or PHI-handling systems.
-
Track record running internal enablement programs, developer marketplaces, or platform-adoption initiatives.
-
Familiarity with Aledade's stack (Python/FastAPI, Vue/TypeScript, AWS, Auth0, Postgres, Datadog) is a plus but not required.
