Rotoflow, an Air Products Business, is seeking a first-shift Assembly Technician, Monday through Friday from 6:25 a.m. to 2:25 p.m., at our Rotoflow headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

This hands-on manufacturing role supports precision mechanical assembly, inspection, material movement, shipping and receiving, and preparation of new and rebuilt turbomachinery equipment in accordance with established safety procedures, manufacturing methods, applicable codes and standards, and the ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System.

Rotoflow is a full-service OEM with more than 75 years of experience designing, manufacturing, servicing, rerating, upgrading, repairing, and troubleshooting standard and custom-engineered cryogenic and warm gas centrifugal turbomachinery for global markets including industrial gases, petrochemicals, and hydrocarbons. Customers are served globally through regional service centers supported by regional and centralized execution teams.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficiency using torque wrenches, power tools, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, bills of material, and inspection requirements with minimal supervision.

  • Hands-on experience operating turning and milling machines in a manufacturing or repair environment.

  • Experience building crates and preparing heavy machinery or industrial equipment for shipment in accordance with packaging requirements.

  • Current or prior experience safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, and related lifting equipment.

  • Working knowledge of ERP/data management systems; SAP experience is strongly preferred.

  • Safety-first mindset with demonstrated adherence to shop safety procedures, lifting practices, quality requirements, and accurate documentation expectations.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision mechanical assembly and disassembly of new and rebuilt turbomachinery components, subassemblies, and related equipment in accordance with drawings, procedures, bills of material, and quality requirements.

  • Clean, inspect, prepare, fit, align, and install parts and components to support safe, accurate, and efficient assembly operations.

  • Use torque wrenches, hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, lifting devices, and other shop equipment to complete assembly work safely and accurately.

  • Verify parts, hardware, tooling, and documentation are available and correct before and during assembly to support production readiness and schedule adherence.

  • Perform dimensional checks, fit-up verification, and in-process inspection as required, documenting results in accordance with quality procedures.

  • Identify, communicate, and help resolve assembly issues, material shortages, drawing discrepancies, quality concerns, and schedule risks with supervision and support teams.

  • Support testing, pressure-containing equipment activities, and balancing operations as required while following applicable safety, quality, and procedural requirements.

  • Prepare, verify, and maintain accurate assembly, inspection, inventory, production, and shipping records in ERP and other required systems.

  • Safely handle, move, stage, and protect components and equipment using forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes, hand trucks, and other approved lifting or material handling equipment.

  • Support shipping, receiving, crating, uncrating, storage, and inventory activities as needed to maintain material flow and production readiness.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and disciplined work area consistent with shop standards, 5S practices, and safety expectations.

  • Complete required training, maintain equipment qualifications, and demonstrate the ability to work independently once trained.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of consistent hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, equipment repair, machining, turbomachinery, automotive, diesel, or closely related mechanical work is required.

  • Technical school certificate or associate degree in mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, machining, automotive, diesel, or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform precision work with excellent attention to detail, strong quality ownership, and consistent documentation accuracy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work performed, escalate issues clearly, and coordinate with supervisors and cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, union manufacturing environment while responding quickly to changing priorities and production needs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial mechanical assembly, machinery maintenance, rebuilds, automotive or diesel engine assembly, or comparable precision mechanical work.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required equipment qualifications, including forklift, crane, hoist, and other shop equipment certifications as applicable.

  • Valid driver’s license is required.

  • Availability to work the assigned first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with reliable and consistent attendance.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules as business needs require.
