The UHS Corporate Human Resources Department is hiring a Manager - Benefits & Retirement to support plan administration, compliance, regulatory matters, and project management, across UHS’ Health & Welfare Benefits and Retirement Plans, including qualified and non-qualified Plans.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support Plan administration, including funding requirements, audits, regulatory filings, compliance time-line across UHS’ key H&W and Retirement Plans

  • Partner with Associate VP Benefits, Benefits Manager & Associate Director Benefits, Retirement and Compliance as a subject matter expert for H&W and Retirement related matters. Work closely with the team to administer UHS’ broader benefit programs, with focus as needed across M&A activities

  • Assist in the development and execution of a governance model for Benefits & Pension Compliance. Works with UHS’ Benefits team to maintain the compliance dashboard

  • Pro-actively collaborate with UHS’ Consultants to conduct thorough research of pending federal & state laws and their impact to UHS’ plans & population

  • Disseminate knowledge of industry trends and legislation to ensure organization’s compliance with federal and state regulations concerning pension and benefit administration (ERISA, DOL, IRS, COBRA, ACA, and related regulations)

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with HR Compliance partners in HR, Risk, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Internal Audit


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred with a minimum of 5 - 8 years' professional Benefits experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably in a healthcare setting.

  • Thorough knowledge of federal (ERISA, IRS, DOL, COBRA) and State regulations that apply to Health & Welfare Benefits & Retirement Plans; including qualified and non-qualified plans
  • Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions including plan terminations and mergers
  • Experience in conducting Plan audits, form 5500 and related filings
  • Compliance experience with multi-site and multi-state locations
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively with the field to achieve Benefit Compliance outcomes
  • Must be responsive in managing issues that require timely management/oversight
  • Must maintain sensitive information as confidential
  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, solid analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as an ability to work independently and effectively interact with all levels of an organization
  • Must have strong knowledge of systems (e.g., WorkDay) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft office (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
