JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Tribal Public Relations, the Public Relations Coordinator will provide clerical, administrative, organizations, and research support for the Public Relations Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

Maintain Public Relations Department records and files.
Produce and edit a wide range of documents using a variety of software. Copy, distribute and file as required, while maintaining a professional and secure work environment.
Proof read, prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents.
Conduct research, assemble and analyze data to prepare reports and documents.
Draft internal and external communication relating to department projects.
Assists in the tracking and reporting of department expenditures.
Assists in the tracking and reporting of department projects and work flow.
Positive Attitude in a team environment.
Must comply with all applicable standard operating procedures and Tribal Regulations. Documents and reports all exceptions/variations/deviations immediately upon awareness.
Order, purchase and label supplies and equipment for the Department.
Administrative duties.
Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ miles, climbing , stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Also may be subjected to a smoke filled environment.

Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, life and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to; a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.

Must be able to travel 35% of the time in and out of Palm Springs, California area.QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required.
College degree preferred.
A minimum of 3 years experience at an Administrative Assistant level or higher or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Legal background preferred.
Must have good PC skills with intermediate ability to use MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Strong English written and verbal communication skill set. Ability to relate to all levels of management, Tribal Membership, visitors and employees in verbal/written form.
Ability to organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision and multiple interruptions.
