Work location of this role is based in west Japan.

We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Account Manager to join our Support & Services Sales Division (SSD).

In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales of aftermarket support offerings, including service contracts, preventive maintenance, and other support solutions for customers using Agilent instruments.

You will manage a portfolio of customers with a large installed base and significant annual spending potential. Success in this position requires a strategic mindset and the ability to oversee and develop opportunities across the entire laboratory environment while building long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Sales & Business Growth

  • Proactively engage existing customers and identify new business opportunities utilizing internal databases and customer insights.
  • Convert customer inquiries and marketing-generated leads into qualified sales opportunities and orders.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets through new business development and portfolio expansion.
  • Promote newly launched products and solutions while supporting customer adoption and utilization.

Territory & Pipeline Management

  • Independently manage assigned territories, customer accounts, and product portfolios.
  • Serve as the primary sales contact for designated customer accounts.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and sales reporting through CRM tools.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through regular engagement and strategic account planning.
  • Understand customer needs and business objectives to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive solutions and maximize customer value.

Work Style

  • This is primarily a field-based Account Manager role focused on direct customer engagement and relationship building through customer visits.
  • Travel within the assigned territory is required to support business growth and customer success.
  • This position is based in Osaka and is responsible for managing customer accounts across the Western Japan region.

Qualifications

  • A proactive sales professional who can identify and create new business opportunities.
  • Native Japanese language skill required.
  • Strong drive and accountability to achieve business objectives and sales targets.
  • Passion for developing existing customer relationships while uncovering new opportunities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions to deliver results.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with global teams in English.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.
