Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to lead the development of strategic, high-impact, and persuasive proposals that significantly enhance AESG’s competitiveness and ability to win new work. The Lead Design Consultant – Work Winning Specialist plays a proactive and strategic role across the full pursuit lifecycle, including opportunity intelligence, pursuit planning, win strategy development, storyboarding, proposal development, bid writing, stakeholder coordination, and submission management.

The role leads the creation of compelling technical and commercial proposal narratives that clearly communicate AESG’s multidisciplinary design consultancy strengths, differentiators, and value propositions while ensuring compliance and excellence in every submission. Beyond individual pursuits, the role contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by refining best practices, enhancing the Bid Excellence Framework, supporting knowledge sharing across the work winning function, and contributing insights that improve proposal quality, operational efficiency, and overall win rates.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant qualification

  • Over 10 years of experience in administration and proposal management for LDC bids

  • Experience within engineering, architecture, or professional consultancy environment preferred

  • Strong understanding of consultancy services, procurement processes, and commercial coordination

  • Experience managing complex multidisciplinary and high-value pursuits

  • Experience with InDesign, CRM systems, and proposal management platforms

  • Strong graphic coordination and presentation development capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Experienced work winning professional capable of leading complex multidisciplinary bids independently

  • Strong proposal management, communication, and stakeholder coordination capabilities

  • Capable of managing multiple concurrent pursuits within demanding deadlines

  • Demonstrates strategic thinking, attention to detail, and collaborative leadership

  • Supports and mentors junior team members effectively

  • Review RFP, RFQ, EOIs, and Prequalification requests independently

  • Lead end-to-end proposal development and submission activities for multidisciplinary consultancy opportunities

  • Develop pursuit strategies, proposal structures, win themes, and submission plans

  • Draft, coordinate, review, and compile compliant and compelling proposal submissions

  • Coordinate bids with Heads of Divisions, technical teams, subconsultants, commercial teams, and external stakeholders

  • Prepare and coordinate commercial fee proposals, deployment schedules, and resource allocation schedules as required for submissions and client clarifications

  • Manage and coordinate the sub consultancy engagement process, including identification of partners, scope alignment, fee coordination, proposal inputs, compliance documentation, and timely submission of required information

  • Coordinate sub consultant agreements, resource requirements, and commercial inputs in collaboration with technical and commercial teams

  • Maintain strong working relationships with subconsultants and external partners to support strategic pursuits and multidisciplinary opportunities

  • Coordinate proposal formatting, visual presentation, and submission packaging to ensure high-quality and client-focused deliverables

  • Review tender documents, addenda, and clarifications independently and communicate changes to relevant teams

  • Lead proposal storyboarding, content planning, and narrative development

  • Prepare executive summaries, capability statements, project references, CVs, and technical submission content

  • Ensure all submissions comply with client requirements, submission protocols, and AESG standards

  • Manage and maintain proposal templates, bid libraries, and standard submission content

  • Mentor, support, and supervise work winning coordinators and proposal contributors

  • Ensure all proposals and revisions are recorded in NetSuite in a timely manner

  • Review proposal and prequalification drafts prepared by other team members when required

  • Coordinate interview preparation, presentations, and post-submission clarification activities

  • Identify areas for improvement within the proposal and work winning process

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices

  • Lead and coordinate monthly work winning team meetings

  • Issue IMS handover communications for awarded projects

  • Monitor market intelligence, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities

  • Support broader business development and client engagement initiatives where required
