Job Purpose

The Site Inspector - Architecture is responsible for carrying out site inspections of architectural works during the construction phase to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes and quality standards. Working under the direction of the Senior Site Engineer – Architecture, the Site Inspector monitors construction activities, identifies non-conformances and assists in maintaining the highest standards of workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires close collaboration with contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary site supervision teams to ensure architectural works are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved project documentation.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience in architectural site supervision.

  • Minimum 3 years' UAE/GCC experience on building construction projects.

  • Experience working within an engineering consultancy or multidisciplinary consultancy environment is preferred.

  • Good understanding of UAE Building Codes and construction practices.

  • Experience on commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use or high-rise developments.

  • Professional membership is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of architectural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and contract requirements.

  • Inspect architectural finishes including walls, ceilings, partitions, flooring, tiling, painting, waterproofing, roofing, glazing, joinery and façade works.

  • Verify that materials delivered to site comply with approved material submittals and project specifications.

  • Monitor workmanship and installation quality throughout all stages of construction.

  • Witness architectural inspections and testing activities where required.

  • Identify construction defects, non-conforming work and quality issues and report these to the Senior Site Engineer.

  • Assist in preparing Site Observation Reports (SORs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), snag lists and Requests for Information (RFIs).

  • Review contractor shop drawings, method statements and material submissions as directed by the Senior Site Engineer.

  • Monitor mock-ups and sample installations to ensure compliance with approved standards.

  • Coordinate with Structural, MEP and HSE site supervision teams to ensure integrated construction activities.

  • Attend site inspections, coordination meetings and progress meetings when required.

  • Maintain daily site diaries recording inspections undertaken, work progress, observations and contractor activities.

  • Monitor contractor compliance with approved construction methodologies.

  • Verify completion of corrective actions following quality inspections.

  • Assist during project handover, snagging and final inspections.

  • Report technical concerns promptly to the Senior Site Engineer.

  • Maintain professional relationships with Contractors, Consultants and Clients at all times.
