Summary
Advance Technology Systems Company in Gilbert, AZ is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for developing and testing machinery and equipment under the direction of Engineering Management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components per established process manual
- Use power tools and hand tools to complete daily tasks
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components using measurement tools and meters
- Follow all established processes and instructions ensuring the process area is compliant with company standards
- Continually assess the manufacturing documentation to determine adequacy and correctness; then communicate issues to supervisor/lead
- Program and configure network components
- Moderate process and/or product failure/root cause analysis
- Liaise between production and engineering departments
- Take the initiative to achieve available training that applies to the process area
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from accredited college in electrical, mechanical and/or engineering discipline preferred
- 1 - 4 years of hands-on experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a technician is a plus
- Must possess high mechanical/electrical aptitude
- 3+ years of experience with industry workmanship specifications such as: IPC 610 (soldering) and IPC 620 (Wire/Crimp), software/testing programs preferred
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic computer technology required
- Possess ability to work independently and as a team player
- Must be analytical, creative, and detail-oriented
- Must be flexible in the ability to support other process areas when needed
- Must demonstrate ability to multi-task several priorities and possess time management skills
- Ability to read and understand drawings, basic schematics, and work instructions required
- Must have ability to understand a test plan and/or procedure
- Must be familiar with testing equipment, firmware, and software
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work may be performed outside in hot and cold desert environments or inclement weather conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, bend, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear, and see (must be able to stand for long periods of time)
- Must be able to lift at least 150 pounds during the course of the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
