About this role
Job Summary:
Leads the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of process-safety and asset-integrity management systems across ADES production assets in Syria. The role ensures that surface facilities, pipelines, pressure systems, rotating equipment, and safety-critical elements are designed, operated, inspected, and maintained to prevent major accident hazards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Process Safety Management and Asset Integrity Management systems, major-accident risk register, and safety-critical element assurance processes.
- Lead HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, QRA, MOC, and PSSR activities for existing facilities, modifications, and new projects.
- Lead risk-based inspection, pipeline integrity, corrosion and chemical management, and inspection and recertification programs.
- Provide technical direction to field HSE, Maintenance, and Integrity teams and drive closure of audit, inspection, and incident actions.
- Lead process-safety incident investigations, root-cause analysis, lessons learned, and compliance with applicable regulations and international standards.
- Review technical requisitions, scopes, bids, vendor requirements, and OPEX/CAPEX budgets, and support technical training and competency assurance.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering; a relevant master’s degree is preferred.
- 12-15 years of upstream oil and gas experience in process safety and/or asset integrity, including at least 5 years in leadership.
- Deep knowledge of PSM, API 580/581 RBI, corrosion management, API 1160 pipeline integrity, and safety-critical element assurance.
- Strong working knowledge of HAZOP, SIL, QRA, LOPA, incident investigation, and API, ASME, ISO, and NFPA standards.
- Fluency in Arabic and English with strong technical leadership and influencing skills; PE, CEng, CCPSC, or relevant API certification is preferred.
