Founding Scientist / Co-Founder

This founding scientist / co-founder role combines hands-on biological expertise with computational thinking to shape the company's scientific strategy and product. You will help define research direction, build core technology, and bridge lab work with AI-driven workflows to accelerate discovery.

What you'll do

• Define and lead the scientific vision and research roadmap for early-stage AI + wet-lab products.
• Design and run key molecular biology, biochemistry, or genomics experiments to validate models and assays.
• Collaborate with engineers and ML researchers to translate experimental needs into computational requirements.
• Implement and oversee lab automation and data pipelines to scale experiments and improve reproducibility.
• Prototype computational tools or analyses and contribute code or notebooks to integrate wet-lab data with models.
• Mentor and recruit early scientific hires and set laboratory best practices and safety standards.

What your Co-Founders are looking for

• Senior-level research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, biotech, or a related field (PhD preferred or equivalent industry experience).
• Training or research experience at leading research institutions or universities.
• Prior experience in or familiarity with AI-for-biology companies, biotech startups, or similar industry environments is highly desirable.
• Comfortable with computational thinking and coding; experience with ML is a plus but not required.
• Excitement about building systems that integrate AI with wet labs and experience with lab automation is a strong plus.
• Bonus: prior founder experience or direct experience scaling early-stage teams and operations.
