Position Summary

The Accounting & Financial Analyst plays a key role in financial data analysis, data storytelling, and visualization to support leadership decision-making and the organization's overall operational and fiscal health. While anchored in financial strategy, this position works extensively across multiple operational departments, partnering with teams throughout the Achieva Family of Organizations to align financial insights with day-to-day operations.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Achieva Resource, the Accounting & Financial Analyst supports annual budgeting and month-end close while tracking performance, optimizing resource utilization, and supporting the strategic goals of Achieva's five affiliate nonprofit corporations.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with internal teams across operational departments to align financial insights with departmental goals and workflows.
Build and maintain reports, interactive dashboards, and resource utilization models that translate complex data into clear and accessible strategic insights for leadership and stakeholders.
Prepare multi-year forecasts and annual budgets while tracking variance and performance across affiliate organizations.
Prepare grant budgeting reports, restricted funds tracking, and account reconciliations to support all aspects of the annual audit.
Prepare reports, analysis, and accounting entries to support the month-end close process.
Partner with the IT Department to connect accounting data with other operational databases and provide centralized data analytics.
Provide timely and effective assistance to internal teams seeking data, reports, or dashboard access.
Seek and incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to automate manual financial processes and promote data system integration that enhances reporting tools and analytical models.
Offer clear explanations and training when needed, empowering staff to make the most of available analytical resources.
Research industry trends and evaluate programs to recommend operational improvements that support long-term fiscal sustainability.
Maintain a helpful, courteous, and solution-oriented approach in all interactions.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Three years of experience as an accountant or financial analyst, preferably in a nonprofit, healthcare, or related industry.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with financial concepts, budgeting, and forecasting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to exhibit flexibility, willingness to learn and change, and maintain current financial and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with financial modeling and budgeting.
Experience with Excel, data analytics, and Business Intelligence (BI).
General accounting and month-end closing experience, including experience creating journal entries.
Knowledge of nonprofit reporting and grant financial administration in healthcare or intellectual disability organizations.
Knowledge of MIP accounting software and Paycom payroll system.
