Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Finance to lead our financial operations in Udaipur, India. This is a strategic leadership role that blends hands-on financial oversight with forward-looking analysis, supporting both day-to-day operations and longer-term organizational initiatives. The Director of Finance will work collaboratively with senior leadership and department heads to strengthen financial processes, enhance visibility into performance, and ensure the organization operates efficiently and sustainably. You will also be responsible for presenting financial data and strategic insights to senior management and stakeholders.

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Maintain strong internal controls and transparent systems of checks and balances
  • Coordinate and oversee annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance in accordance with Indian financial regulations
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend areas for improvement

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting initiatives
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to leadership
  • Support department heads in managing budgets and understanding financial performance
  • Evaluate cost structures and identify opportunities for efficiency and expense control

Strategic & Operational Support

  • Partner with leadership on long-range planning, capital investments, and business strategy
  • Support financial aspects of projects and initiatives, including budgeting, cash flow analysis, and ROI evaluation
  • Assist in evaluating new opportunities, partnerships, and operational initiatives
  • Provide financial insight into pricing, labor, and operational decisions
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track organizational health

Cash Management & Banking

  • Oversee cash flow management and forecasting to ensure optimal liquidity
  • Maintain and strengthen banking and lender relationships
  • Ensure appropriate liquidity to support operations and capital needs

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide oversight and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering professional development
  • Build a collaborative, accountable, and detail-oriented finance function
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, human resources, and department leaders
  • Promote a culture of financial awareness and accountability across the organization
  • Champion innovative approaches to financial management and process improvement

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive experience in a Director of Finance or equivalent senior financial leadership role
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or professional certification (CA, CPA, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial compliance, regulatory requirements, and audit management, with knowledge of Indian financial regulations and standards
  • Proven experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting in complex operational environments
  • Strong proficiency in financial systems, accounting software, and data analysis tools
  • Excellent understanding of internal controls, risk management, and financial governance frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams while fostering a culture of accountability and accuracy
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Strategic business acumen and ability to align financial strategy with organizational objectives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing capital projects, construction budgeting, and ROI analysis
  • Background in cash flow management and banking relationship development
  • Knowledge of property management systems and integrated financial reporting platforms
  • Prior experience supporting strategic planning and long-range financial forecasting initiatives
  • Experience with change management and process improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with multi-functional team coordination and stakeholder management
  • Background in developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Experience in regulated industries or organizations with complex compliance requirements
