About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

This is an exciting time to join our People & Culture team as we continue to enable a modern, future-focused approach to supporting ACC. As a Senior HR Advisor, you will provide operational HR support to a busy portfolio within ACC's Service Delivery business group, while leading complex employment relations casework and partnering with leaders to deliver meaningful people outcomes. 

This eight-month fixed term opportunity through to 30 April 2027 offers the chance to influence leadership capability, organisational performance and employee experience, helping ACC continue to support New Zealanders and contribute to keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

The appointing salary for this role is $101,287 - $142,993 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and manage complex employment relations casework with confidence and care, ensuring outcomes align with ACC's values, employment legislation and strategic direction.
  • Provide operational HR support across a portfolio, partnering with leaders to design and deliver people solutions that enhance organisational performance and employee experience.
  • Develop leadership capability by coaching and supporting leaders to build high-performing, inclusive teams.
  • Use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating these into actionable plans that support business outcomes.
  • Build strong and influential relationships across ACC, acting as a connector between business needs and People & Culture services.


About you | Mōu

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing high-volume employment relations casework across a broad range of formal ER matters.
  • Proven success partnering with business leaders in large and complex organisations to deliver people outcomes.
  • Strong coaching, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation, with public sector experience desirable.
  • Experience working across HR disciplines and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver programmes of work.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility with senior leaders.
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to align people solutions to organisational strategy.
  • Excellent communication, judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
