About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
As the Information Technology Security Manager, you will provide hands-on technical leadership and people leadership for ACC's cyber security capability. This is a unique opportunity to lead a skilled team responsible for reducing cyber risk through security engineering, security operations, and pragmatic governance. You'll influence strategic security outcomes, partner across technology and the business, and help ensure ACC continues to deliver trusted services that support New Zealanders. Through your leadership, you'll contribute to keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between by protecting the systems and information that enable ACC's services.
The appointing salary for this role is $148,063 to $178,978 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.
This role has a higher in-office attendance expectation than ACC's standard hybrid working arrangements.

You will bring:
- Proven experience leading cyber security, security operations, security engineering, or information security teams.
- Strong leadership capability with a passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
- Hands-on cyber security expertise across areas such as incident response, threat detection, identity and access management, cloud security, and security architecture.
- The ability to influence, collaborate, and build trusted relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on measurable outcomes, risk reduction, and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex cyber security concepts into clear business language.
- Demonstrated resilience, sound judgement, and professionalism when operating in complex environments.
- Experience leading through change while fostering an engaged, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
- You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
