PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Responsible for the general and preventive maintenance of the equipment, building, furniture, fixtures and grounds of the facility, to include monitoring work performed by outside vendors or contractors.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the activities involved in the maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for building operations including structural maintenance.
  • Responsible for regulatory and building code compliance.
  • Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of department staff.
  • Provide staff management to including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
  • Ensure safe operations and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as project manager for small scale, short duration projects.
  • Develop and manage budget and inventory systems.
  • Manage the activities involved in the design and renovation projects for a facility.
  • Analyze metrics and make recommendations for improvements and solutions to issues that are identified.
  • Initiate and authorize repairs or replacements and prepare related cost estimates.
  • Be on-call for building emergencies.
  • Responsible for facility operational effectiveness and safety.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in facilities management or operations required.
  • Five or more years’ experience in similar position required.
  • One or more years’ of supervisory experience preferred.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid state driver's license.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
  • Valid Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.
