About this role

AFIA is seeking an organized and creative individual to supervise and lead engaging programming for staff members' children during our Back-to-School Professional Development (August 3rd - 19th). While AFIA staff are engaged in professional sessions preparing for the new school year, this role will provide a safe, structured, and fun environment for their kids.


This is a short-term role, but could lead to other roles in the future.



Responsibilities


Supervise children of AFIA staff members (approximate ages 4 – 12 years old, approximate group size 3 – 10 students) for the full duration of each PD day (8:30 – 4:30).

  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment; manage minor conflicts and redirect behavior as needed
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate activities and games
  • Coordinate snack/meal times, bathroom breaks, and outdoor play time
    Communicate proactively with parents/staff about their child's day, any incidents, or needs
  • Set up and clean up program space each day
  • Follow all AFIA safety and supervision protocols, including sign-in/sign-out procedure

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children (childcare, camp counseling, teaching, youth programming, or similar)
  • Comfortable independently leading a group of children with minimal oversight
  • Strong communication skills with both children and adults
  • Background check required



Start Date: August 1, 2026
