Description:

Performs scheduled/unscheduled inspections, minor/major maintenance, operational checkouts and troubleshooting on assigned powered / non-powered type ground support equipment/vehicles   

 

What you will be responsible for:

  Performs daily flight line driving and servicing functions on simple components

Maintains documentation and time accounting systems associated with repairs (Track labor hours per job)

Complies with all applicable technical orders, equipment manuals

Maintains immediate work area, facilities, and vehicles using good housekeeping and safety practices

Assists other mechanics with accepting or rejection parts in accordance with well-documented criteria and/or maintenance manuals

Analyzes failure modes and recommends repair plans

 Produces detailed non-routine service reports

Integrates new capabilities

Assists Quality with development of new processes and repairs

Communicates technical concepts using charts, graphs, statistical tables and written reports

Provides technical assistance to other mechanics, trains and mentors

* Performs all other duties as required

 

 



What you will need to be successful in this role 

  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic principles

  • Education/Training: Five years’ experience with powered and non-powered maintenance shops or proven capabilities

  • Thorough knowledge of automotive service, industrial equipment repair or aerospace ground equipment

  • Skill to proficiently use the computer

  • Trouble shoot, read drawings, and use test equipment

  • Interpret extensive and varied technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form

  • Independently determine and develop approaches to solutions 

  • Microsoft Office basics

  • Perform basic troubleshooting

  • Learn industry-related software

  • Operate common and special hand and power tools

  • Ability to work both as a team and/or independently with great success.

  • Skill to read and use electrical wiring diagrams in the performance of maintenance

  • Operate special test and diagnostic equipment

  • Define problems, collect data, establish and draw valid conclusions without well documented procedures

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.

  • Must maintain a valid Driver License during employment
