Lead Accounts Receivable Specialist. 

The Lead AR Specialist will oversee accounts receivable operations in a fast-paced environment. The Lead AR Specialist is responsible for invoicing cash applications, collections, credit monitoring, dispute resolution, and customer account management. The Lead AR Specialist provides leadership and operational ownership, ensures strong internal controls, identifies gaps and supports timely and accurate cash collection while maintaining positive and professional customer relationships. The Lead AR Specialist will report to the Finance Manager. The Lead AR Specialist leads the AR team. 

What you will be responsible for: 

• Ensure invoices are issued accurately and timely in accordance with contract terms and company policies. 
• Review monthly AR reconciliations ensuring balances are accurate. Verify unapplied cash and payment discrepancies are researched and resolved.
• Own the collections process including prioritization of past due accounts. Monitor collection strategies and follow up cadence. Partner with customers to resolve payment delays and disputes. 
• Support periodic review of customer credit limits and payment behavior as well as terms, monitor customer credit exposure and escalate risks as needed. 
• Partner with sales, customer service, and operations to resolve issues impacting collections. Lead resolution of billing disputes and short paid invoices. 
• Prepare month end close by ensuring AR activity is complete and accurate, reviewing AR aging, unapplied cash, and collection reports. 
• Adhere to internal and external audit requests and maintain compliance and audit ready documentation. 

What you will need to be successful in this role: 

Education & Experience: 

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Some college or equivalent years of experience is preferred. 
• Three to Five years of related experience and or training. 
• Aviation industry experience highly favored. 
• Strong understanding of credit risk, cash application, and AR controls. 
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, comprehending, reading and writing the English language is mandatory.
