About the role

Aalo Atomics is seeking a skilled Waterjet Technician to join our team in building the future of advanced nuclear reactors. In this role, you will program and operate OMAX waterjet equipment to cut and produce high-quality parts that meet precise production specifications. You will support ongoing operations by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency. This is a hands-on position requiring strong attention to detail, as you will follow work instructions and safely handle a variety of materials, including large metal plates and small components. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on precision, safety, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

  • Program, set up, and operate an OMAX waterjet to produce precision components.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Interpret and follow work instructions, blueprints, and procedures to accurately select materials and cut production parts.
  • Handle and move materials, including large metal plates and small finished components, using appropriate equipment and safe practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience; demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt in a technical environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical proficiency in equipment maintenance and use of hand tools; forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively; capable of clearly communicating issues, delays, or operational concerns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OMAX Make software, including programming and operation.
  • Hands-on experience rebuilding and maintaining waterjet pump systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with manufacturing software systems.

  • Based in the United States
  • Willing to work on-site in Austin, TX
