About this role
Dates of Coverage: 40 hours per week, commencing mid-December 2026 through at least April 2027
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1700 hours
Patient Demographics: Adult and geriatric populations
Care Setting: 100% Inpatient care
Average Patient Load: Variable, dependent on hospital admissions
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide post-procedural daily care
- Facilitate patient and family communication and education
- Collaborate closely with one employed neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner
Documentation/EMR: EPIC
Average On-Call Hours: 8 hours
Number of Providers Required: 1
Practice Environment: Inpatient/Hospital-Based
Teaching Responsibility: None
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Board certified (REQUIRED)
- Valid Virginia medical license (No exceptions for providers needing licensure) (REQUIRED)
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications (REQUIRED)
- Active DEA registration (REQUIRED)
- Clean background with no malpractice or license-related issues (No exceptions) (REQUIRED)
Licensure Requirements:
- License to practice in Virginia
