Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations in the critical care setting
- Administer treatments and manage care plans for patients with neurological disorders
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform necessary diagnostic tests and interpret the results
- Educate patients and families on care plans and health management strategies
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in critical care and neurology
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing or relevant field
- Current NP or PA certification and licensure
- Previous experience in critical care or neurology preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
Level I trauma
Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a, specific dates
No call required
Setting: 20-bed NSICU
Patient Census: 20 total per day
Required Procedures: Arterial and central lines, lumbar punctures, vent management
Will respond to codes
Support Staff: Neurosurgeons, neurologists, APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
ACLS and BLS required
