This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality women's health care in a collaborative clinical environment.
As a Locum Tenens Ob/Gyn, you will deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, managing both routine and complex cases while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction. You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals who share a commitment to evidence-based medicine and compassionate patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients of all ages
- Perform routine gynecological examinations, screenings, and diagnostic procedures
- Manage prenatal care, labor, delivery, and postpartum care for expectant mothers
- Diagnose and treat conditions related to the female reproductive system
- Collaborate with nursing staff, midwives, and other specialists to deliver coordinated patient care
- Document patient histories, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes accurately in electronic health records
- Respond to emergency obstetric and gynecological situations promptly and effectively
- Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning, and preventive care
- Participate in on-call rotations and cover scheduled shifts as required by the practice
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state
- Associate-level experience in obstetrics and gynecology, including proficiency in labor and delivery management
- Strong clinical skills in both surgical and non-surgical gynecologic procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environment
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
- DEA registration and current BLS/ACLS certifications
- Malpractice insurance coverage or eligibility to obtain it
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-5p)
Daily Volume: 18-24 patients
Case Types: GYN clinic procedures, NSTs, and general OB/GYN mix
Support Staff: CNMs 3 days per week
Must be board-certified
