Description



This contract, on-site position is ideal for an Associate-level physician looking to deliver high-quality women's health care in a supportive, patient-centered environment.



As a Locum Obstetrician-Gynecologist, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive care to women at every stage of life — from routine gynecological exams and prenatal care to labor and delivery management. As part of a dedicated Medical Practice team, you will work alongside experienced clinicians who share a commitment to evidence-based medicine, compassionate patient communication, and clinical excellence.



Responsibilities



  • Deliver comprehensive obstetric care, including prenatal assessments, labor monitoring, and vaginal or cesarean deliveries
  • Perform gynecological examinations, diagnostic imaging reviews, and minor surgical procedures
  • Develop individualized care plans based on patient history, risk assessment, and clinical guidelines
  • Collaborate with midwives, nurses, and physician colleagues to ensure coordinated patient management
  • Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Provide patient counseling on reproductive health, contraception, menopause, and preventive screenings
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies and participate in on-call coverage as required by the practice
  • Refer patients to subspecialists for complex conditions and ensure continuity of care


Requirements



  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Valid, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Texas, or ability to obtain one promptly
  • Associate-level clinical experience in an obstetric and gynecologic setting
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills in women's health
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients and care teams
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and digital patient management tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical practice environment
  • Commitment to maintaining current knowledge of OB/GYN best practices and guidelines
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are strongly preferred


Flexible Schedule: 24-hour beeper call shifts, 7a-7a



Callback Volume: 1-2 per day



Delivery Volume: 80 per month



Support Staff: First assist, hospitalist, ED physician, MFM, neonatologists



Board certification required
