Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Maternal Fetal Medicine

This on-site contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in an empowering environment focused on providing excellent care to expectant mothers and their families.

In this role, you will play a vital part in the health and well-being of high-risk pregnancies, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care. You’ll have the chance to engage in various projects aimed at advancing maternal health initiatives while ensuring that patients receive personalized, quality care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough prenatal examinations and monitor fetal development
• Diagnose and manage complications in high-risk pregnancies
• Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Provide counseling and education to patients regarding their conditions
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds or amniocentesis
• Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in maternal fetal medicine
• Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives as needed
• Document patient care accurately in electronic health records

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in a relevant field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Proficiency in using medical software and EHR systems
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Current state medical license or eligibility for licensure

Schedule: 8a-4:30p

Call Requirement: Monday-Thursday (4:30p-8a), Friday 4:30p-Monday 8a

Outpatient Volume: 2-3 consults and 10-12 ultrasound reads per day

Inpatient Volume: ~3 ultrasounds and 2-3 consults per week

Required Procedures: Amniocentesis and cerclage

Preferred Procedures: CVS and ECHO screenings

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Additional Certifications: DEA
