This contract, on-site position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide exceptional inpatient care while enjoying the flexibility of a locum tenens arrangement.
As a Hospitalist , you will play a vital role in managing patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring the highest standards of medical practice. Your clinical expertise and dedication will directly contribute to improved patient outcomes and the overall success of our healthcare delivery model.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning
- Coordinate care with specialists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and medical procedures
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans
- Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in a timely manner
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and clinical case discussions
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide acute care interventions
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Hospital Medicine
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
- Associate-level experience in hospitalist medicine or inpatient care settings
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site hospital environment
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to evidence-based medicine, patient safety, and quality care
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Schedule: 7p-7a, 7 on/7 off
No call requirement
Patient Volume: 8-10 admissions per day
Responsibilities: Admission of new patients, cross cover night patients, and respond to codes
No procedures required
Support Staff: Critical care physician on-call
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Additional Certifications: DEA and ACLS
