Description



This contract-based, on-site position offers a rewarding opportunity for an Associate-level physician to deliver exceptional cardiac care while working within a collaborative and patient-focused clinical environment.



As a Locum Cardiology physician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, conducting patient evaluations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing comprehensive treatment plans. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring continuity of care for our patients and supporting our medical team with your specialized expertise in cardiology.



Responsibilities



  • Diagnose and treat patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
  • Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, physical examinations, and medical history assessments
  • Interpret diagnostic tests including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterization results
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with heart disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, and other cardiac conditions
  • Prescribe medications and recommend lifestyle modifications to improve patient cardiovascular health
  • Collaborate with other physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records
  • Provide emergency cardiac care as needed and respond to urgent clinical situations
  • Educate patients and their families about cardiac health, treatment options, and preventative care
  • Participate in clinical meetings and case reviews to ensure high-quality care standards
  • Ensure compliance with all medical regulations, protocols, and hospital or clinic policies


Requirements



  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Cardiology is required
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of California
  • Associate-level experience in cardiology or a related internal medicine setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, diagnostic procedures, and treatment protocols
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and medical staff
  • Strong documentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy in medical records
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Ability to work a contract-based schedule with flexibility to accommodate clinical coverage needs
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care


Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8a-5p), Friday (8a-12p)



No call requirement



Setting: Outpatient



Daily Volume: 20 patients



Duties: Full scope outpatient general cardiology



Support Staff: MA/clinic supervisor, RN



EMR: Cerner



Must be board-certified



Additional Certifications: BLS and DEA
