Summary of Position:

The Principal Technical Sales Engineer is a strategic leader responsible for shaping the direction of technical sales initiatives. This role involves driving innovation, influencing key stakeholders, and leading large-scale, high-impact technical projects.

Essential Functions:

    Drive strategic Deal Qualification, assessing high-impact opportunities and ensuring technical alignment

    Lead the development of cutting-edge Feasibility Testing methodologies and tools

    Spearhead Demo/Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives, showcasing advanced technical capabilities

    Provide visionary Presales Support, acting as a key technical consultant for critical accounts

    Define strategic Project Scoping frameworks, ensuring alignment with business objectives

    Architect groundbreaking Solution Designs for transformative projects with high complexity

    Create strategic Bill of Materials (BoM), optimizing cost, performance, and scalability

    Shape the overall sales strategy to achieve and exceed Revenue and Margin Goals

    Visionary Leadership: Inspires and directs teams to achieve organizational goals

    Business Acumen: Aligns technical initiatives with revenue and profit objectives

    Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners effectively with diverse teams to drive results

Work Environment:

This position is based in a professional office setting and regularly utilizes workplace technology, including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, cloud-based filing systems, and collaboration tools.

Physical Demands:

 This role requires physical capabilities that support the successful execution of key responsibilities. The employee regularly engages in verbal and written communication with colleagues and clients to address project-related inquiries and must be able to convey accurate information clearly and efficiently. The position involves remaining seated at a workstation for approximately 75% of the time, with occasional movement throughout the office to access equipment, supplies, and shared resources. Daily tasks include consistent use of computers and standard office technology such as keyboards, printers, and multifunction devices. The role also involves transporting equipment boxes weighing up to 25 pounds within the building and to other offsite locations as needed for project support.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field    
  • 8+ years of experience 

Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

    8+ years of experience in technical sales or engineering leadership roles

    Recognized expertise in driving complex technical projects and strategies

    Exceptional communication, strategy development, and stakeholder management skills

    Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue goals

    Advanced Technical Expertise: Recognized as a thought leader in solution design and technical sales

    Influence and Persuasion: Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels to adopt innovative ideas
