Full job description

About Waga Energy

Waga Energy was established to further our founders' commitments to preserving the common good and acting collectively to ensure a sustainable future.

Committed to the fight against global warming and to a sustainable energy transition, Waga Energy has developed a breakthrough technology to recover landfill gas into biomethane, also called Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). Our WAGABOX® landfill gas upgrading units deliver high-quality biomethane, regardless of the quality of the raw biogas. The biomethane produced by the WAGABOX® can be injected directly into the gas grid or used as fuel for vehicles. Waga Energy builds, owns, operates, and maintains the WAGABOX® units under long-term contracts with landfill owners, and biomethane sales revenue is shared

Already in operation at dozens of landfill sites worldwide, this revolutionary landfill gas purification solution has been producing clean, local renewable energy since 2015. Waga Energy is committed to a mission of driving a sustainable energy transition by making RNG accessible to all.

Guided by the values of Boldness, Mastery, and Cooperation, Waga Energy employees in Europe, North America, and other locations are united by a common purpose: maintaining a livable planet for future generations.

  • Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting processes and the Annual Operating Plan for project sites, ensuring accurate outlooks, proactive identification of risks and opportunities, and alignment with strategic priorities.

  • Perform comparisons of actuals vs presales BPs and interact with business development and operational teams to deduct operational action plans and presale costing adjustments

  • Build, standardize, and continuously enhance operations finance reporting and forecasting disciplines, including the development of financial reports, KPIs, dashboards, and data models that support effective performance management and decision-making.

  • Lead the financial integration of new project sites into reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and control frameworks, ensuring consistency, transparency, and compliance as the operating platform expands.

  • Provide thought leadership on inventory and working capital management, driving improvements in efficiency, aging reduction, and cross-functional alignment with Supply Chain and Operations teams.

  • Identify and champion continuous improvement opportunities within Operations Finance and across led teams, promoting standardization, efficiency gains, and sharing of best practices across sites and regions.

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with a wide range of business partners, demonstrating adaptability and effective communication in support of evolving operational, financial, and organizational demands.

  • Solid understanding of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.

  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or project-based operations environments.

  • Proven ability to evaluate capital investments, business cases, and financial returns.

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.

Waga Energy upgrades landfill gas into grid-compliant Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), also known as “biomethane”. Thanks to its patented WAGABOX® technology, Waga Energy recovers the methane emitted by the breakdown of organic matter contained in the waste to inject it directly into the gas grid. The result of ten years of R&D within Air Liquide and Waga Energy, the WAGABOX® technology combines membrane filtration and cryogenic distillation to separate the methane from the other components of the landfill gas. It provides high-quality biomethane that is injected directly into the gas grid. The purification units are fully automated, they operate 24/7 while being under remote computerized supervision. Waga Energy deploys this solution through a dedicated business model. Waga Energy purchases landfill gas from landfill site operators, funds the construction and operation of WAGABOX® units, and sales biomethane to energy utilities. 23 WAGABOX® units are in operation in the world, combined, they have produced over 100,000,000 Nm3 of RNG. 13 more WAGABOX® units are under construction in France, Spain and Canada. Since 2017, all the WAGABOX® units have avoided the emission of 190,000 tons of eqCO2 in the atmosphere. Waga Energy's headquarters are located in Grenoble (France), a world-renowned center for high-tech innovation with a reputation for leadership in gas engineering and cryogenics. Waga Energy also has subsidiaries in the United States, Canada and Spain.
