The Security Officer is responsible for securing the museum premises by patrolling grounds, monitoring security systems, and managing access for visitors and staff. They also handle emergency responses and process incoming deliveries and mail.
Candidates must have a high school education and the ability to maintain Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services registration for unarmed officers. Computer and security experience are preferred, along with the ability to work a flexible, rotating schedule.

Position Summary:
The Virginia Museum of History & Culture (VMHC) seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Security Officer, who has an authentic interest in the mission and work of the VMHC. The Security Officer position is highly visible, serves as part of Operations & Finance and is responsible for providing security for the VMHC properties throughout buildings and grounds.
