Position Title: Research Associate II

Position posting date: 07/15/26

Position start date: ASAP or until filled 

Salary/Range: Dependent on Experience (DOE)

Status: Casual/Intermittent (approximately 19 hours/wk.), not benefits eligible 

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, variable hours between 8:00am to 4:30pm 

Service/Division: Pulmonary Critical Care Research

Work Location: VA

Job Code: LCA 1407

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour 

This position includes RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, Flow cytometry, ELISAs, and other in vivo assays. The Research Associate/Lab Technician will also order supplies, submit changes to the IACUC and IRB, and supervise students.

· Collects, classifies, and files scientific material.

· Organizes, graphs, and analyzes experimental data.

· Runs in vitro assays, in vivo experiments and ex vivo studies.

· Trains and supervises undergraduate student researchers.

· Manage lab ordering, equipment updates and repairs, and general lab safety paperwork.

· Writes and submits changes/addendums to lab IRB and IACUC protocols.

Requirements

  

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field from an accredited college or university AND at least 1 year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
