Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Director of Military Recruitment and Training for VICEROY and NDAA Awards is to lead the recruitment, training, and academic progression of highly qualified, clearance-eligible students—including traditional and military-inclined candidates—to fulfill Department of Defense (DoD) workforce demands through the VICEROY Scholar program. Acting as a strategic bridge between the University and the defense sector, the role focuses on aligning technical research with military needs, establishing a high-level Board of Advisors, and modernizing training pathways. Additionally, the position ensures total program accountability by managing extensive technical, financial, and workforce metrics through structured monthly, quarterly, and final federal reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
VICEROY Scholar -Recruitment:
VICEROY Scholar Completer: Recruit U.S. citizens, clearance-eligible students with a 3.2 GPA or above, to enroll as a VICEROY Scholar. Encourage VICEROY Scholars to complete the Program.
Recruit Students - Lead both traditional and military-inclined student enrollment at UDM.
Training and Micro-credential - Recruit and train students based on industry and military needs.
Monthly Status Report (MSR) Support summarizes technical progress, schedule status, financial burn, risks, BOA activity, and upcoming milestones.
Quarterly Program Review (QPR) Briefing - Comprehensive program update including research progress, workforce metrics, lab modernization, and BOA alignment.
Establishment of Board of Advisors (BOA) - Recruit Board of Advisors (BOA) members, and support meeting cadence and governance processes.
Guide Technical Research aligned with Government / Military Needs Maps, Military, and Military contractor new technology needs using connections and leadership within the Department of Defense, GVSC, and other pipelines of military areas.
Final Program Report at the end of the project - Summarizes in a written format all activities, outcomes, metrics, research results, workforce transitions, and recommendations.
Scholarship and Stipend Plan Identify and select clearance-eligible candidates.
Workforce Metrics Report: Collect Data on student progression, placement rates, and transition outcomes.
Communication Content: In support of the Award justification and College / University Awareness.
Minimum Qualifications
Education – A college degree or four to eight years of work experience in a related field.
