As a Physical Education & Health Teacher at Spire School, you will inspire students to build lifelong healthy habits, confidence, and resilience. In this role, you will create meaningful learning experiences that promote physical wellness, social-emotional growth, and academic success for students with diverse learning needs.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field
Connecticut Physical Education PK-12 (044) and Health PK-12 (043) certification or immediate eligibility to obtain both certifications
Experience working with students receiving special education services strongly preferred
Strong collaboration, organization, and time management skills
Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
What You’ll Do
Plan and deliver engaging physical education and health instruction aligned with Connecticut curriculum frameworks and individualized student goals
Differentiate lessons, assessments, activities, and equipment to ensure every student can participate and succeed
Foster healthy habits, physical fitness, executive functioning skills, and positive social-emotional development through daily instruction
Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, and families to support each student's academic, physical, and emotional growth
Lead school-wide health and wellness initiatives that build a culture of lifelong wellness and community engagement
