Position Overview
Hey! You look like you might be a good fit for our team. Check this out: Southwest Adventure Tours is one of the coolest places to work, and we want you to help us be even cooler.
Join the SWAT Team and showcase your service-oriented skills in a dynamic environment. We guarantee you won’t be bored. We guarantee you’ll be working with amazing people. We guarantee you’ll be a vital and important part of providing excellence that our guests will vibe on for the rest of their lives. You’re helping to build truly positive memories, not just working on fleet things.
While our fleet isn’t as cool as Transformers, we’ll let you pretend they are without judgment. We’ve given the vans numbers, but you can name them if you want.
The Mission
Southwest Adventure Tours’ highest mission is to provide guests with the opportunity to build lasting memories through creating exceptional experiences that will touch their heart, mind, and soul. They create tours and adventures that enliven the senses, instill well-being, and fulfill even the unexpressed wishes and needs of their guests.
As our Grand Pumbah of Vehicular Operations, you’ll turn complex coordination into seamless journeys, ensuring every van is a reliable vessel for the lifelong memories our guests are waiting to make.
Key Responsibilities
- Master the Fleet Pulse: You own the heartbeat of our operation, overseeing end-to-end maintenance, rigorous inspections, and vendor wizardry to ensure every vehicle is a pristine, road-ready vessel for adventure.
- Orchestrate Seamless Logistics: You are the grand dispatcher, artfully balancing vehicle scheduling, asset tracking, and relocation strategy to ensure the right gear is in the right place at the right time.
- Champion Absolute Safety & Compliance: You serve as our guardian of the road, vigilantly upholding DOT and National Park Service standards through proactive safety training, rigorous driver record management, and incident-free performance.
- Drive Financial & Operational Excellence: You manage the bottom line like a pro, balancing fleet budgets, streamlining invoice workflows, and making smart procurement decisions that keep our operations lean and mean.
- Elevate the System: You’re more than a manager; you’re an architect of efficiency, constantly refining our internal tracking systems, mentoring the team, and providing the vital support that keeps our operations firing on all cylinders.
What Success Looks Like
Success here isn't just about zero downtime; it’s about becoming the invisible architect of legendary adventures. You’ll know you’ve conquered this role when our fleet operates with the precision of a high-stakes heist crew: flawless, proactive, and always two steps ahead of the terrain. You won’t just be tracking miles; you’ll be engineering the "perfect ride" that becomes the stuff of legend. Our guests will return with life-altering memories, blissfully unaware of the logistical magic you orchestrated behind the scenes to make it all possible.
Key Competencies
- Logistical Foresight: You don’t just schedule; you predict. You have the ability to see problems before they arise and the strategic mind to navigate around them with ease.
- Operational Zen: Even when the schedule is chaotic and the pressure is mounting, you remain the calm center. You thrive in the fast lane and keep your cool when things go sideways.
- Uncompromising Standards: You possess an eagle eye for detail, ensuring that safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance aren’t just met—they are exceeded, every single time.
- Systems Architect: You love to build and refine. You’re always looking for a better way to do things, turning raw data into streamlined, efficient, and bulletproof processes.
- Radical Ownership: You treat every asset, budget line, and driver record as if it were your own. You are the ultimate custodian of the fleet, accountable, reliable, and driven by the mission.
Work Environment
Basecamp is our Salt Lake City headquarters:a sweet blend of climate-controlled garage and office space to keep you warm through the winter and cool in the summer. But let’s be real… you aren’t the type to sit behind a desk all day. You’ll thrive on the freedom of the hunt, oscillating between high-level operational strategy in-office and getting hands-on in the field. Whether you’re staging a rig for a remote adventure or performing mid-trip logistics, you’ll trade screen time for windshield time and office air for the open road. It’s the perfect variety for someone who needs to be where the action is.
Why waste any more time? You know you want this job.
