Project Engineer – Poland (Solar PV)
About Sunbird
Sunbird Solar Solutions Limited is a pan-European developer and EPC contractor specialising in commercial and industrial (C&I) solar PV projects. We operate across Spain, Portugal, Poland, the UK, France, and Germany, delivering projects through two complementary models:
Developer and EPC for Sunbird-owned assets – We develop, build, own, and maintain solar PV installations that generate long-term value.
EPC partner for client-funded projects – We deliver fully compliant, turnkey solar PV systems ready for client handover.
Across both models, our focus is the same: delivering safe, high-quality projects on time, within budget, and in full compliance with all applicable standards. We combine strong in-house engineering and project delivery expertise with a trusted network of external partners to design, coordinate, construct, and commission solar PV systems that perform reliably over the long term.
Poland is one of Sunbird’s fastest-growing markets, with multiple project portfolios progressing simultaneously through design, permitting, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
The Role
As Project Engineer, you will lead the technical delivery of Sunbird’s commercial and industrial rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV projects in Poland.
Sitting at the intersection of engineering and construction, you will make sure approved designs are translated into safe, compliant, buildable, and high-performing installations. You will coordinate technical activities across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and grid connection, ensuring engineering decisions are implemented effectively throughout the full project lifecycle.
This role combines strong engineering knowledge with practical project delivery. While Project Managers retain overall responsibility for commercial delivery, contracts, programme, and client management, you will own the technical execution of the project. You will provide technical leadership, coordinate engineering activities, oversee construction quality, manage commissioning, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure every project meets Sunbird’s engineering standards.
This is a hands-on role with regular site presence. Travel across Poland is required to inspect works, coordinate contractors, oversee commissioning, and provide technical leadership during construction. The role can be based anywhere in Poland.
