About the Role
As a brand ambassador and key member of our store's leadership team, you'll create welcoming, memorable experiences for every customer while helping shape a store culture rooted in creativity, community, and collaboration. Reporting to the Store Manager, you'll play a foundational role in building a strong team and setting the tone for an exceptional customer experience from day one.
As a Team Lead, you'll open and close the store, share the stories behind our products, and help customers find the perfect gift or home accent. Just as important, you'll take ownership of the details that keep the store running smoothly, including a customer-ready floor, a supported team, and consistently high standards for visual merchandising and service.
You lead by example, build authentic connections with guests and teammates alike, and take pride in contributing to a store that reflects the Rifle Paper Co. brand.
Our new store in Tampa is planned to open Fall 2026.
What You Will Do
Represent the Rifle Paper Co. attributes and values, modeling the way for the team as an ambassador of the brand and its products.
Warmly welcome every customer, sharing the unique brand story, design process, and "world of Rifle" with enthusiasm.
Build personalized and authentic connections with our customers, enhancing their loyalty and affinity to Rifle Paper Co.
Actively engage with customers and share product features and benefits to help each customer find the right Rifle Paper Co. products for their needs.
Oversee and uphold Rifle Paper Co. customer service standards, ensuring excellence is consistent and executed by the team at all times.
Maintain and lead efforts to meet company expectations on store presentation, cleanliness, and organization.
Keep the team updated on current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
Process customer purchases accurately using the POS system, including handling returns, exchanges, and gift wrapping.
Lead the team in maintaining the store's high visual standards by restocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring all products are presented according to brand guidelines.
Support the management of incoming shipments, stockroom organization, and inventory counts to ensure optimal product availability.
Maintain and lead efforts to ensure a clean and safe environment, including light cleaning of the sales floor and organizing the stockroom.
Execute opening and closing the store, including cash handling and deposit procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of business needs, and organizational objectives.
Acts as manager on duty in absence of Retail Store or Retail Assistant Store Manager.
QualificationsWhat We Are Looking For
1–2 years of experience in specialty retail, customer service, or a luxury boutique environment preferred, with a focus on taking on increased responsibility and leadership.
High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Design is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with both the team and customers, finding genuine joy in helping others.
Detail oriented with a deep passion for design, illustration, and the unique Rifle Paper Co. aesthetic.
A collaborative team player comfortable balancing exemplary customer service with daily operational and leadership goals.
Proven ability to creatively drive sales through outstanding service and leading by example on the sales floor.
Operates with a high degree of initiative and professionalism, thriving in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
Ability to lift, bend, and reach throughout a shift, including standing and walking the sales floor for up to 8 hours.
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs. regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
Ability to work a varying schedule, including opening/closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed by the business.
Maintains a polished, professional appearance and demeanor that aligns with company standards.
