Shape the products that move people and join us as a Product Owner!
We're looking for a Product Owner who brings clarity to complexity, someone who can take a customer need, break it down into crisp, actionable requirements, and see it through to delivery without letting scope creep or ambiguity derail the team.
This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of engineering, design, commercial, and customers. You'll own the backlog, set the standard for requirement quality, and be the person everyone turns to when something needs to be well-defined. On larger projects involving multiple product lines, you'll also play a coordinating role - keeping workstreams aligned and ensuring the integrated solution holds together from the customer's perspective. Once a project goes live, you'll sometimes stay close to the customer, managing change requests and supporting the ongoing product relationship.
What you'll do:
- Analyse, refine, and document requirements into Epics and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria;
- Own backlog structure, priorities, and readiness, ensuring engineering never starts on something unclear or underdefined;
- Act as the primary customer interface for scope and requirements throughout delivery, making clear calls on what is in scope, what is a change request, and communicating those decisions directly;
- Lead UAT together with the customer - triaging observations as bugs, integration gaps, or scope changes and ensuring the right response is given quickly;
- Validate solutions with customers and internal teams, keeping alignment tight and surprises minimal;
- Spot scope gaps, risks, and dependencies early - including cross-workstream dependencies on projects with multiple product lines - and bring them to the right people before they become problems;
- Manage change requests post go-live - scoping, estimating, and prioritising CRs in close collaboration with the customer and engineering;
- Support the ongoing product relationship after go-live, maintaining a clear picture of customer needs, open items, and upcoming opportunities;
- Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, UX, and Commercial to keep delivery predictable;
- Support estimation processes alongside Architecture and Engineering;
- Serve as the go-to for requirement clarifications during development and QA.
What you'll bring:
- Strong analytical ability for requirements discovery and structuring;
- Confidence working in Jira, Confluence, and writing Epics and User Stories;
- Experience in AVL - fleet management, real-time passenger information, or related transit operations - is a significant advantage and will be prioritised;
- A solid grasp of domain workflows and product platforms; broader experience across transit product lines (ticketing, AFC, onboard systems) is a plus;
- The ability to translate what a customer wants into what the team can build - balancing desire with feasibility and strategy;
- Confidence to hold scope boundaries with customers under pressure - you know the difference between a bug, an integration gap, and a change request, and you communicate that clearly;
- Clear, direct communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Discipline and collaboration - you work within delivery frameworks, not around them.
What do we offer:
- Work that matters - our systems move millions of people daily across multiple continents;
- A collaborative engineering culture where your input is heard and valued;
- Experienced team leads and senior engineers to learn from and work alongside;
- Room to grow in a company expanding internationally;
- Competitive compensation package.
