This position is responsible for performing a wide range of garment repairs and alterations on customer clothing, from simple repairs such as replacing buttons and repairing seams to more complex fittings and alterations on formal wear, and wedding gowns. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys working directly with customers, and consistently delivers high-quality work on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Perform professional garment alterations and repairs on a variety of clothing, including casual wear, business attire, uniforms, formal wear, and wedding gowns.
Complete repairs such as button replacement, zipper replacement, hemming, patching, seam repairs, lining repairs, and other garment restoration.
Execute advanced alterations including resizing garments, adjusting sleeves, tapering, taking in or letting out seams, altering jackets, dresses, suits, and bridal gowns.
Conduct customer fittings and accurately measure garments to ensure proper fit.
Consult with customers to understand their alteration needs and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
Inspect garments before and after alterations to ensure exceptional quality and attention to detail.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, welcoming for customers.
Meet promised completion dates while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Communicate with team members regarding special requests, timelines, or garment concerns.
Handle garments with care and maintain confidentiality and professionalism with every customer interaction.

QualificationsQualifications

Previous tailoring, sewing, or alterations experience required.
Experience with bridal, formal wear, or specialty garment alterations is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and sewing techniques.
Proficiency using industrial and standard sewing machines and related equipment.
Ability to perform both basic repairs and complex alterations independently.
Excellent hand-sewing skills and finishing techniques.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple customer orders and meet deadlines.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift garments as needed.
