Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering
Role Purpose:
Lead and manage the Industrial Engineering team for developing a stable and transparent overall production processes in parallel to product development and inter-site product transfers
Manage the quality, speed and cost of the operational execution in new product introduction phase
Planning and implementation of all production facilities, tools and documents required for series production as well as to support new production technology implementation projects
Accompanying prototypes and pilot series and the qualification of the implemented solutions in terms of the requirements
Participate in Plant-to-Plant Transfers (PTP), Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) and New Technology Implementation work packages
Role Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of engineers across Value Stream Engineering, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, and Smart Tools to support new product introductions, manufacturing transfers, continuous improvement initiatives, and technology development projects.
Partner with R&D and cross-functional teams to drive Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and Design-for-Assembly (DFA) initiatives, ensuring products are optimized for quality, cost, manufacturability, and scalability.
Design and implement efficient manufacturing value streams, assembly concepts, and production processes using Lean Manufacturing principles to improve productivity, flexibility, and waste reduction.
Manage the development, qualification, and deployment of production equipment, automation systems, assembly tools, jigs, fixtures, and product-specific test solutions.
Optimize production layouts, line balancing, workstation design, and manufacturing workflows to improve operational efficiency, capacity utilization, and product quality.
Establish and maintain manufacturing standards, work instructions, process control plans, qualification protocols, and testing procedures to support robust and repeatable production processes.
Lead prototype builds, pilot runs, and product launch activities, ensuring successful process validation, equipment qualification, and smooth transition into serial production.
Drive continuous improvement, automation, and digitalization initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance manufacturing performance, process capability, and operational visibility.
Collaborate closely with suppliers and manufacturing sites to develop, implement, and sustain innovative manufacturing technologies, tooling, equipment, and testing solutions.
Manage departmental resources, project priorities, budgets, and performance objectives while coaching team members and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Role Requirements:
Degree in Engineering with Mechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering major. Master degree is preferred
Business fluent English (written and spoken)
Minimum 10 years of experience in Electronic Products Manufacturing Industry, of which 5 years in a managerial capacity within a dynamic international manufacturing environment
Strong fundamentals in Lean Manufacturing Principles and ideally a deep understanding of manufacturing technologies for Electronics Products/ Sensors Production
A team player with excellent communication skills, great problem-solving attitude and a lateral thinker
Focus on innovation: approaching problems in a different/refreshing manner to arrive at strong and new/different decisions or solutions
Quality focus: Understanding the processes and requirements of work and making sure that they deliver their intended outcomes to the customer (internal and external) on a consistent basis
